“Pelikan International Corporation Berhad strengthens its regional operations in UAE”.
Pelikan Middle East & Africa a subsidiary of Pelikan International Corporation Berhad has announced its regional expansion in UAE despite the global downturn. The new office in Dubai is a representative office of PICB with 100% ownership.
The company’s focus in the regional market is being driven by the growing opportunities within the fastest growing IT destinations, primarily in the UAE where the IT sector is expected to reach ($ 2.4 billion by 2011) thereby fueling the upsurge in the demand for IT products in the country.
Aiming to capitalize on these booming markets, Pelikan has outlined a strategic plan which focuses on maximizing its core business while expanding and developing new opportunities to leverage the ever growing demand in Multimedia projectors, Shredders, Visualizers, Laminators & Office stationeries.
“We consider the Middle East & Africa as a key markets for Pelikan with the GCC, Levant & South Africa emerging as our main targets in the region”, said Nasser Al Atrash, Senior Vice President – Head of Middle East & Africa Business Operations.
The strategies Pelikan have formulated are devised to further increase its market share and sustain the revenue growth witnessed over the years. Pelikan is acting on this specified strategy which focuses on acknowledging ongoing changes such as diversification of work style, advancement in the network environment & enrichment of contents and enhancing our products, offering according to the requirements of today’s business landscape.

Pelikan Middle East in collaboration with Pelikan Africa & local Business partner “Text Book Center (TBC)” invited dignitaries & key decision makers to a cocktail party to announce business partner relationship & re-launch Pelikan brand in Kenya. Dignitaries like Mr. Gerhard Braun, Head of Economics – German Embassy Kenya, Mr. Nasser Al Atrash – HBO & Vice President, PMEA & Mr. S.V. Shah, Chairman – TBC attended the launch and addressed the attendees.
Brief presentations on the operations of TBC & PMEA were shared during the launch program. Pelikan Africa representative Mr. Raphi Paul presented the product range to the attendees.
The launch was followed by some colorful and traditional entertainment program.
The event was coved by the local press media.
Events & PR 8, PMEA 3rd Anniversary Celebration
PMEA celebrated its 3rd anniversary at the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club Hotel, Dubai where Mr. Johann Adolf Cohansz, Consul General – Germany and Mr. Dzulkifli Mahmud, Senior Trade Commissioner – Malaysia along with German Guests honored the gala dinner party with their presence. PMEA Business Partners from Middle East, Africa and SAARC region also attended the event.
The celebration commenced with a welcome speech by Mr. Safuan Bin Basir, Senior Vice President where he expressed his gratitude towards the entire PMEA Team and Business Partners for their contributions to the success and achievement of the company.
Further to the speech, Mr. Nasser Al Atrash, Vice President & HBO announced Pelikan International Corporation Berhad regional expansion in UAE with a new office in Dubai to maximize its core business while expanding and developing new business opportunities in Middle East.

Pelikan MEA announces “Office Wellness” as a new strategic business initiative for 2009, to differentiate and emphasize the competitive advantage of the brand within the industry by providing office, school & printing solutions to the customers utilizing the wide product assortment. The theme “Office Wellness”, strives to foster wellness at the workplace by Geha and Pelikan line-of-products.
This Gitex 2009, PMEA unveiled Geha (Germany) range of Products for Middle East and Africa region. PMEA promoted Geha Presentation Systems - Multimedia Projectors with its related accessories along with Document Shredding Machines, Laminators, CD/DVD Sets & other imaging solutions. Geha Products are designed ideally for Education, Government Departments & Large Corporate Houses.
The business partners and visitors from across the region attended and visited Pelikan/Geha stand. Many visitors gave an overwhelming response and positive feedback on Gitex concept and Geha product that will be followed and turned to business opportunity.
